The premise of this team-based subway game is for one team to capture the most subway cars over the course of a ride. A car is captured by having more members of one team present inside a car than the other teams when the train leaves each station.
- The teams are divided evenly and all player are given two team-colored arm bands, a game pad and pen.
- Players may position themselves along the platform before the train arrives.
- The game begins as soon as the train enters the station.
- After leaving every station, players must document in their game pad as to which car number they are on and which team won the car.
- A team wins a car when they have more players in the car than any of the other teams.
- Every time the train stops, players are allowed to switch cars.
- Holding or trying to pry open the subway doors is illegal.
- Moving in between cars while the subway train is moving is illegal.
- Play continues until the train reaches the last designated stop at which point all players gather in the middle of the platform and wait for one more train in case any players were left behind during game play.
- All players advance to game headquarters where pads will be collected and data is figured. Game play will be visually recreated on a display board for all to discover which team won and how the teams moved over the course of the game.
Advice
- Do not get left behind! It is your responsibility to be on a subway car before the conductor closes the doors. Your team will continue to play a man down. If you are left behind, proceed to get onto the next train to meet your team in the middle of the platform at the last designated stop.
- Do not get hurt! Be safe and DON’T RUN (you don't need to run to play the game effectively).
- Do not make a nuisance. If the conductor becomes irritated, we may have to sacrifice finishing the game.
- The subway doors are typically open for about 7 seconds, but sometimes as long as 14 seconds. It is considered risky to try to move 2 cars in one stop.
