FLIGHT CLUB: HIT OPPONENT WITH PLANE FOR HIGH-SCORE!

THREE HUNDRED paper planes, 2-4 PLAYERS.

FLIGHT CLUB is a game taking place in a rectangle representing the field of play. There are 2 sides and up to 4 types of player, with each player assigned one of 4 roles. The roles come with specific aesthetic and strategic opportunities attached with each player given a different sized and/or coloured paper plane, ranging from A5 size up to A2 and the colours yellow, red, green and orange. The object of the game is to try and throw the paper plane at and hit other players.

Designers – Joe Stevens

Full-time father of two and self-styled artist, athlete and academic. Stevens’ background in fine and performance art, combined with his interest in technology, led him to do an MA in Interactive Media at Goldsmiths in 2007, where he incorporated critical theory into his participatory performances. More recently an alter-ego, the Wine Man, has helped him to develop, produce and facilitate a work called FLIGHT CLUB, where audiences face off in paper plane combat. He is currently making work and writing about related issues at home in Greater London.
