Come Out & Play 2015

Come Out & Play turns 10 this year!

Have we reached the level of New York institution? Not sure about that, but we are still trying to make the city more fun and playful.

In honor of our 10th festival, we’ll be featuring some of your favorite games from the history of the festival.

Check out these great events that make up this year’s festival:

Physical Game Design Masterclass
NYU Game Center, July 11-12

Designing physical play presents specific game design challenges. You need to account for physical skills and limitations. You need to track and communicate the state of the game in different ways. Fortunately, there are a lot of mechanics we can build on, from folk games to social games to sports. In this two-day workshop, we’ll explore various aspects of the design of physical play and games by examining classic games and creating our own new ones.

Led by Greg Trefry, Director of the Come Out & Play Festival and a game designer at Gigantic Mechanic.

Register for Physical Game Design Masterclass.

New York University Game Center at 2 Metrotech Center 8th Floor Brooklyn, NY 11201.
